Penelope’s Helping Hooves (PHH) is a non-profit organization. We bring the equine therapy to the educational setting. Our miniature horses Penelope and Willow are certified therapy pets who were tested and determined to be reliable animals that can be trusted with children. PHH travels to schools and programs for children who are differently-abled this

can include but is not limited to children who have autism, wheelchair bound, emotional challenges, blind, deaf, and other developmental, or physical challenges. We bring the two miniatures to the school setting and we use the minis to facilitate social and sensory interaction. We find that the miniatures are a great with the children because they do not have the intimidation factor that a full size horse may present to a child. All children are able to participate in this program regardless of their challenges. We have not met a child that hasn’t wanted to participate, and it’s so rewarding seeing the smiles on their faces as the pony cart jogs down the path.
